Announcement

Many of you have been asking why HumanLab have ceased distributing the New Leaf products

We hope this will help explain why we have come to this decision

For many years New Leaf have told us their analysers have a life expectancy of between 12 to 24 months despite many of you experiencing a failure rate closer to just six months.

Recently New Leaf informed us that they have made improvements to the analysers, however they also stated that the life expectancy for the analyser is just a mere 9 months and that you could need them replaced 2 to 3 times during the first two years of service. Whist New Leaf do this free of charge under warranty and a service agreement during this period, we do not believe this is good enough for a system costing in excess of ₤7,000 and indeed believe it falls foul of European warranty standards.

Following on from this, the service arrangement (where the analysers need to be returned to America for servicing) costs $995 plus shipping per year, as you already pay a fee for each new client we believe this to be excessive. Although as some of you have been lucky enough to experience they do have the option of waiving this fee, but recently they seem reluctant to do so. If this is the case you will need to factor in this additional cost as obviously with the analyser only lasting 9 months this service agreement would be a must, not an option!

New Leaf is looking for everyone to upgrade to the new seven series model and have stated they are going to withdraw support for the 6.2 model in 2013. The new seven series software package is a good product with many valuable features and has the potential to generate a good income stream, so if you can live with these issues and perhaps negotiate a 5 year warranty from the onset this could be perfect for you. But for us we felt we were misled over the analyser’s durability and coupled with the other technical issues many of you have experienced we felt we could no longer stand by this product without harm being caused to our reputation.

So after 6 years hard work it was with sad hearts that we came to the decision to cease distribution of the metabolic systems, but hopefully with this explanation you can understand why we felt we had no other option. We would like to thank all our clients for your valued custom and in recent weeks your kind words of support, we indeed hope our paths will cross sometime in the near future.
